This is a step by step guide on how to strip your XBOX ONE down to all of its individual parts. It’s surprisingly easy and much easier than the 360 was (which wasn’t THAT difficult anyway)

Tools Required:

The Xecuter Unlock Kit v3 should work fine with this which includes the XCLAMP Unlock Tool & Clip Slider
You just need a Torx 9 Screwdriver (Unlock kit comes with T8 and T10)

O Power Inlet
O HDMI Out (left) and HDMI In (right)
O Digital Optical Audio Out
O Two USB 3.0 Ports
O Kinect Port
O Infrared Output and Ethernet Port

You can use the XCLMAP Unlock Tool to remove these rubber pads.

Side panel clips are very similar to the 360 Slim. You can use the XCLAMP Unlock Tool for this.

Rear panel clips are very similar to the 360 Slim

Use a Torx 9 to remove the Wifi board

Wifi Board IC’s

Marvell Avastar 88W8897 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi Combination Radio Chip Supports 802.11ac, NFC, Bluetooth and Wireless Display
Marvell Avastar 88W8782U WLAN SOC w/USB 2.0 Interface Support

There are 8 x 64mm Torx 9 screws to remove.

mmmmm Sata

Liteon DG-6M1S Blu-Ray Drive

The underside of the Blu-Ray drive is a couple of IC’s and a large ribbon cable:

Microsoft MS0DDDSPB1 1326-BTSL ATNGS501
Texas Instruments 37T AVY7

Samsung Spinpoint M8 ST500LM012 500 GB 5400 RPM with 8MB Cache SATA II 3.0Gb/s hard drive.
Newegg seems to have favorable reviews of this drive.

The RF Module board detaches outward from the lower case.

The back of the RF Module board features one lone IC from Info Storage Devices labeled 9160F1MS03 1327 2317B057. We believe this is an Audio User Interface chip from Nuvoton.

We recommend you use the Xecuter XCLAMP Unlock Tool for this

We’re happy to report that, should your new Xbox One have cooling issues, replacing the fan or heat sink is easy.

All it takes is the simple flick of a spudger to separate the 112 mm diameter fan from the heat sink.

O X887732-001 DG3001FEG84HR (includes AMD “Jaguar” 8-core CPU + AMD Radeon Graphics GPU)
O SK Hynix H5TQ4G63AFB 4 Gb (512 MB) DDR3 SDRAM (total of 16 x 512 MB = 8 GB)
O X861949-005 T6WD5XBG-0003
O SK Hynix H26M42003GMR 8 GB eMMC NAND Flash
O ON Semiconductor NCP4204 GAC1328G Integrated Power Control IC

This morning, Microsoft has begun rolling out a new SystemUpdate that brings the Xbox 360 dashboard/kernel version to 2.0.16203.0.

Although there has been no official word from Microsoft yet, it’s likely this update addresses a minor issue or small change as evidenced by the single digit increment in version number over the last update.

After updating, LT+ v3.0 and LTU v1.2 continue to work fine with backups both offline and on Xbox LIVE. Xk3y also continues to function without issue on LIVE and offline.

Check back here on c4evaSpeaks.com for official word from c4eva once he’s done a LIVE log for this update.

P.S. Quit being such gullible fools and regurgitating the nonsense from Wikipedia every time an update comes out.

*UPDATE* [2013-02-20 06:29PM UTC]
Whoops. I missed the tweet yesterday from Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson (Larry Hryb), confirming our assumption that it was a minor change:

“Xbox LIVE System update out today. No big changes just an update to default settings that will only be visible to certain users in the EU.”

Also, for those asking in the comments, yes, LT v2.01 and LT+ v2.0 continue to work fine after the update as well.

Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson (Larry Hryb) posted this about the update:

“In this update, we are correcting some issues such as displaying the incorrect playlist name when launching a playlist from Xbox SmartGlass to the console, an error with Xbox Video closed-captioning and an error with Xbox Music that some were experiencing.”

CR3 PRO FINISHED / CR3-DGX ADDON / CORONA V3 GLITCHED / DEMON BB UPGRADE READY & MORE….

Here is a monster update to compliment yesterday’s LT Ultimate fw news.

Going out with a bang for sure

NEWS #1: CR3 PRO

It’s been 6 months in the making (no thanks to several motherboard/dashboard revisions during our development time), and now after an exhaustive test run, the CR3 Pro is ready for public consumption.

This is aimed at users who demand the highest RGH performance possible and the ability to tune their settings to an extreme level.

The first release of CR3 Pro is designed for slims only. The full kit includes new V3 QSB’s for Trinity, Corona v1 (16MB Hynix TSOP) and v2 (4GB Phison BGA) (These are also available to buy separately for use with legacy CoolRunners Rev A, B & C and also the CR3 Lite and a Phat version V3 QSB kit is also available – See News #5). A Brand new POST V2 for complete monitoring and tuning using the new CR3 Pro Rater software is also included (J-R Programmer v2 required – See News #6)

Note: For Corona v2 (4GB) Nand Read/Write you will need the 4GB RW Kit.

NEWS #3: CORONA V3 (Samsung 64MB BGA)

The new Corona v3 with Samsung 64MB BGA hit the market last month in small quantities

Several changes however with a couple of tweaks and a new Corona v3 QSB kit we were able to glitch – so don’t panic – this one is easily done

NEWS #4: DEMON PHAT SB to BB CONVERSION

We have completed a simple conversion kit for all DemoN Phat so you can install to any BB 256MB or 512MB without having to buy a new version DemoN.

There is also a new firmware which is being tested right now and we hope to have it all released in the next couple of weeks.

NEWS #5: J-R Programmer / NAND-X / CoolRunner QSB V3 Kits Now On Sale

The new V3 QSB kits are now available which also allow Xell monitoring over SERIAL/UART using the latest version J-Runner software (NAND-X USB Update Cable Required – we designed the software so it could also use this cable without having to design a new one). The new V3 QSB’s are also designed to be Plug n Play compatible with both J-R Programmer & NAND-X and offer the cleanest and most optimum RGH install possible.

Now on sale with all official resellers:

Corona QSB V3 Kit + SERIAL/UART Monitoring using NAND-X USB Update Cable:

The wraps have finally come off what Team Xecuter recently teased as “The Lord of the Hacks – One Xbox 360 Drive to Rule Them All”. The surprise is a new Unlocked DVD Replacement PCB universal for all Xbox 360 Slim DVD drives (Lite-On DG-16D4S 9504/0272/0225/0401/1071, Lite-On DG-16D5S 1175/1532, Hitachi DLN10N 0500/0502).

In addition to this astounding feat, and equally amazing, is c4eva’s creation of a new firmware in the Lite Touch line, dubbed “LT Ultimate”, or “LTU” for short. LT Ultimate has been developed specifically for use with the new Slim DVD PCB, and is safe for use on Xbox LIVE and when performing dashboard SystemUpdates. Unlike previous firmwares, LT Ultimate boasts an incredible new feature that allows it to function without needing a previous full fw dump; only the DVD key is required! LT Ultimate will initially be released as v1.0, and consists of a single firmware file, containing all the necessary code to function with each of the Slim DVD drives, and JungleFlasher handling the selection and programming of it for the appropriate drive model and firmware version.

LT Ultimate is based on LT+ v3.0, so nothing has changed with respect to ripping, ISO structure, or AP2.5 Topology Data requirements. As was the case with LT+ v3.0 for Lite-On DG-16D4S, support is retained for truncated XGD3 backups by LT Ultimate on Lite-On DG-16D4S & DG-16D5S and Hitachi DLN10N, but their use is strongly recommended against.

Additional information concerning the key dumping process will be announced soon.

To be absolutely clear, and to mitigate the inevitable deluge of repeat questions, the new Unlocked DVD Replacement PCB is for Xbox 360 Slim DVD drives only, and the LT Ultimate firmware can only be used in conjunction with the PCB — it cannot be flashed to original Slim drive PCBs.

LT Ultimate is now currently “in testing”, and the Firmware Status table on c4evaSpeaks.com has been updated accodingly to reflect the new version and statuses, as well as on the dedicated LiteOn1175.com and LiteOn1532.com landing pages.

*UPDATE* [2012-10-30 08:11AM UTC]
With Team Xecuter’s official annoucement today of the associated products (CR3 Pro and CR3-DGX), we’re now able to publicly clarify that, contrary to an earlier statement made by c4eva on 2012-08-19, RGH (Reset Glitch Hack) is in fact required for DVD Key retrieval from all newer drives; Lite-On 1175/1532 DG-16D5S, and Hitachi 0500/0502 DLN10N.

To break it down a bit, these are the DVD Key retrieval RGH requirements:

  • DVD Key retrieval from Lite-On 1175/1532 DG-16D5S on kernel 2.0.14XXX.0 or lower, requires CoolRunner Rev. A/B/C, CR3 Lite, or CR3 Pro (Slim version).
  • DVD Key retrieval from Lite-On 1175/1532 DG-16D5S on kernel 2.0.15XXX.0/2.0.16XXX.0 and higher, requires CR3 Pro (Slim version) + CR3-DGX.
  • DVD Key retrieval from Hitachi 0500/0502 DLN10N on kernel 2.0.14XXX.0 or lower, requires CoolRunner Rev. A/B/C, CR3 Lite, or CR3 Pro (Slim version).
  • DVD Key retrieval from Hitachi 0500/0502 DLN10N on kernel 2.0.15XXX.0/2.0.16XXX.0 and higher, requires CR3 Pro (Slim version) + CR3-DGX.

The CR3-DGX is an add-on that connects to the CR3 Pro and aids in CPU/DVD Key retrieval for systems on updated kernels 2.0.15XXX.0/2.0.16XXX.0 and higher. Until now, these systems were unable to have their keys retrieved by normal means due to Microsoft’s thwarting of the “XOR hack” as of the 2.0.15572.0 update, which added a new key to the RC4 key hash calculation.

With the new Unlocked DVD Replacement PCB, LT Ultimate, and now Team Xecuter’s other newly-introduced products, all 360s can now be RGH’d and all DVD drives can be flashed — a truly momentous point in Xbox 360 scene history!

*UPDATE* [2012-10-31 11:53PM UTC]
On IRC today, c4eva made a statement clarifying why it was originally thought that the Lite-On 1175 DG-16D5S would not require RGH for DVD Key extraction. This should clear up people’s confusion, and hopefully put an end to the silly rumors that there was a secret non-RGH method for grabbing the Key.

[2012-10-31 11:45PM UTC] #fw <c4eva> the key originally dumped from 1175 drive is an aes key,but it was not the dvd key as originally thought. This aes key will still be dumped by the flashing process as it is unique per drive!
[2012-10-31 11:53PM UTC] #fw <c4eva> for 1175/1532 the dvdkey and realtime fw checks have been moved into the drive cpu, complicating things a bit!

Below is a demo video from Team Xecuter showing the new Slim Unlocked DVD Replacement PCB in action with c4eva’s LT Ultimate firmware on a Lite-On DG-16D5S 1532:
